In the year of 2024, "Sex and the City" is still influencing lives. As a 23 year old going through a lot of shit in the world right now, I started watching "Sex and the City" for the first time ever. I am 2 seasons down, and waiting for the book to come in the mail.

I have two older sisters who are watching the show as well, one who has seen it and one who is a newbie like me. I love my sisters and the weird things we click over. It is rare for all three of us to like the same show, much less for us to be watching the same show at the same time.

The show is, at times, cheesy and outdated, but ultimately I fell in love. Writing is my passion, and even though Carrie Bradshaw annoys me more than I enjoy her, I love watching a show with a female lead writing about her passions. And so I thought, "Why can't I do the same?"

While her passions revolve around relationships and sex, mine tend to just revolve around everyday life. While my everyday life definitely includes relationships and sex, more so than I realize sometimes, that's not all that I'll be writing about.

As I said before, the show can be cheesy and outdated, but it's also sad to me that there are more than a few cases in the show that still resonate with women. Whether it's about sex, or jobs, or relationships, or misogynistic men, very little seems to have changed for women in the past 30 years.

Now, to make this short and sweet, this blog was inspired by "Sex and City";however, I'm not planning on talking about "Sex and the City" often. Yes, there will be blog posts inspired by events or episodes from the show, but the posts will revolve around real events in my life.

I will try to stick to a consistent schedule of posting. You all will be able to comment on the blog posts. Anyone can reach out to me through the Contact form, or through any social media links around the site. Hope you enjoy!
